How to reach Livigno
BY CAR
For those coming from Lombardy, Piedmont and Liguria: all year round Milan, Tangenziale Nord, exit at Cinisello Balsamo; freeway to Lecco, continue to Colico, take the main road SS 38 for Sondrio, Tirano, Bormio, Livigno. in summer From Tirano: the Swiss border – Poschiavo – Forcola Pass (Identity Card needed for border crossing - Check the times that the Pass is open).
IMPORTANT:
Satellite navigators may indicate routes with Passes which may be closed or only open at specific time periods.
The Foscagno Passis open 24 hours a days, 7 days a week.
The Forcola Pass is closed during the winter season.
For those coming from Triveneto, Emilia, Centre and South Italy:
all year round exit from the motorway at Bolzano Sud – take the freeway as far as Merano – Malles Venosta/Mals – the Swiss border Tubre/Taufers – Pass dal Fuorn – “Munt la Schera” motor traffic tunnel (Identity Card needed for border crossing) or A4 motorway exiting at Brescia Ovest towards Lake Iseo; Main Road SS.42 Breno, Edolo; SS 39 for Aprica, SS 38 for Tirano. Bormio, Livigno.

From 5.00am to 9.00am – Only from Livigno to Switzerland
From 9.00am to 10.00am – Tunnel closed – Change of direction
From 10.00am to 4.00pm – Only from Switzerland to Livigno
From 4.00pm – Tunnel open at alternate traffic.

VEREINA TUNNEL
Railway tunnel under the Fluela Pass, from Selfranga (Klosters) to Saglianis (Engadine) with vehicle transport. Regular connections (generally every half hour) from 05.20 to 21.20, with timetable extensions during the tourist season. Journey duration 18 minutes.
